Over the last two decades, I have helped client teams across markets and industries overcome complex strategic, service and product design challenges.
My approach combines research methodologies, the essence of lean-startup thinking, a deep understanding of best practice service and digital product design, and the balance between customer and business needs.
I aim to provide opportunities that are ‘people-centric’, that are adaptable to business realities, that strive within constraints and legacies and that are based on sustainable frameworks.
I have a diverse background, having consulted for many innovation agencies, design consultancies and client side businesses and have gained an MA in Digital Media Management and Innovation.
I speak German (native) and fluent English and also volunteer my skillset in between projects to improve the end-to-end experience design of a German NPO within the culture sector.
Experience
My experience has been shaped by a large variety of challenges. From developing new retail banking propositions, to creating healthcare service concepts, to reinventing an instant coffee product line, to coaching banking teams about service design, through to helping dentists provide better post appointment care. I have worked for fantastically innovative agencies and highly proficient consultancies such as Whatif?!, DigitasLBi, Adaptive Lab, RGA, Designit, to name a few.
Qualification
My MA degree at Hyper Island has helped me adapt quickly, collaborate effectively, think strategically and remain creative and playful. My thesis focussed on helping traditional design teams into C-Suite by developing strategic capabilities.
Leadership
As a practitioner, I enjoy imparting my experience to client teams and colleagues and have been mentoring and guiding team members in innovation and service design.
Skill set
My skill set enables me to work across the entire design process - from proposition through to implementation. I am as much at home at navigating ambiguous propositional challenges as I am at facilitating research and creating experimental prototypes through UX/UI. I use whichever tool is outcome and stage-appropriate, e.g. pen and paper, Miro, Notion, Figma, Sketch, Dovetail, Webflow, etc.
Recognition
I conceptualised the user experience of the NSPCC Net Aware app, which won the '“The Internet Matters Design Award” and the “The Experience Design Award” in 2017. I also developed the UX strategy for the Hargreaves Lansdown app, which has since won numerous awards.
